New acquisition strengthens Infomedia’s Nordic market position
Infomedia is taking over the Norwegian, Swedish and Estonian media monitoring companies M-Brain AS, M-Brain AB and M-Brain OÜ from the Finnish company M-Brain OY. The acquisition includes 100 employees along with company clients, digital platforms and solutions.

Sweeping win for Portuguese Visapress
The Portuguese MMO organizations CISION, MANCHETE and CLIPPING CONSULTORES have been found guilty of using content without authorization from the rights holders represented by VISAPRESS. In its ruling on Sept 4th the Portuguese intellectual property court finally ended a 6 years litigation process.
Australian Inquiry Pushes for Major Changes on Platform Regulation.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has recommended sweeping changes to Australian law to address the power imbalance between digital platforms and media companies. These recommendations are contained in its final Digital Platforms Inquiry report, released on 26 July.
PDLN Berlin focused on DSM implementation opportunities
Over 60 PDLN members and guests were at the PDLN Berlin conference, which focused on implications of the new DSM directive on media monitoring. The directive is new and the many opportunities it creates are still being explored.
WPP shortlists final bidders for Kantar
Reuters reports that WPP has shortlisted a series of U.S. buyout funds to submit binding bids for a majority stake in its data analytics unit Kantar as it wants to finalise the sale in late June. Four private equity firms are in the running and it is expected to be finalised towards the end of June.
